A Writer's Guide for EIA White Papers
The Employee Involvement Association (EIA) White Papers are a collection of articles written by the EIA Organizational, Individual, Associate, and Student membership as well as from current and past Board of Directors and other professionals in the employee involvement field. These white papers are submitted for purposes of review, reference, and to promote all aspects of employee involvement within an organization.
Audience
The audience for the White Papers is primarily the membership of the Employee Involvement Association (EIA). Members of EIA are typically administrators/managers of employee involvement programs, within an organization, with many focused on idea management system development. In general, they hold positions in the private business sector as well as government offices, military installations, non-profit, or public offices located anywhere in the world.
Biographical Information
Please include a two or three sentence biography at the end of the paper that explains why the author has knowledge of the subject. This lends additional credibility to the paper. Include any professional affiliations and the author's email address if they wish to be contacted by readers.
Avoid Promotional Material
Our readers expect articles that are unbiased, evenhanded and non-promotional in nature. Writing about particular products or services will disqualify an article from consideration as a White Paper. If one product is mentioned, an alternative should also be discussed; articles must be objective, offer advice that is broadly applicable, and include information about competing products and services. White Papers are not advertising: EIA offers several excellent venues for advertising; please send an email to [email protected] for more information.
Review and Editing
Each article submitted for consideration as a White Paper will be reviewed by up to three volunteers. Reviewers will use a standard scoring instrument to recommend that articles be published or not published as White Papers. Their recommendations will be final. To volunteer to be a Reviewer please notify [email protected]
How to Submit a White Paper
Email the manuscript to [email protected] If email is not an option, a paper can be submitted on diskette. The paper should be single spaced, in Word format. Copy should be kept simple without footnotes, special fonts or formatting options. Graphics and PowerPoint are acceptable; please add them as separate files. All submissions are formatted to conform to the white paper format. Take a look at the papers online for examples. |
