EIA Regional Chapters

Chapter Websites Carolinas         Michigan

Regional Chapters provide an opportunity to share expertise and discuss mutual concerns with others who have the same responsibilities and challenges. Your nearest Chapter meets bimonthly or quarterly. Each meeting gives attendees an opportunity to hear speakers on topics relevant to the operation of EI programs and to ask questions of fellow members who may have had to deal with similar situations. Chapters are an excellent source of timely information.

If there is not a Chapter in your area, you may wish to consider forming a Chapter.  The first step is to determine the area to be served by your chapter. While only ten active Chapter members (who are also current EIA members or applicants) are required to start a chapter, a larger group probably works more effectively. Although there are no restrictions as to geographic area (metropolitan area, state, etc.), consideration should be given to such things as the distance one would have to travel to attend meetings.  The area should be large enough to draw from a variety of educational and employment backgrounds, yet small enough to expect a good turnout for meetings.  EIA can provide you with a kit on how to get started, and there are start-up funds available from EIA upon request.
